Hello, my name is Ms. McGowen; some of you might know me from being the Pre- K teacher. I am happy to say that I recently switched to the art teacher position, since we were in need of one! As of right now in art we are doing lots of exciting and creative art work! Since I have all of the grade levels from Pre-K up to 8th grade, I am learning day by day all of the student’s names, and seeing how talented each and every student is. I am looking forward to getting to know all of the students this year! We are always using a lot of supplies in art class, and I will periodically ask for donations. As of right now we are in need of pencils with erasers, glue, toilet paper/paper towel rolls, poster board, and old shoe boxes. Also, it would be great if you could save any old newspaper, grocery bags, etc. that you think we would use in art. I know we will all have a great and fun year in art at Santa Clara! |

As of right now in art we are making Christmas decorations. I was very pleased to see how much all of the students in the school helped out a great deal with the Thanksgiving decorations for the luncheon, and how creative they all are. If you have any spare poster board or glitter to donate I would greatly appreciate it. I hope everyone has a Very Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year!

Catholic Schools Week is coming up! This week all of the grades are making posters for a poster contest for the theme “Light the Way”. All of the students are doing a great job with the posters and are being very creative. |
Art is going great and the students are about to start making Easter decorations, since Easter is coming up so quick! I am excited to see their creativity everday and how each and every student is growing. I hope everyone has a safe Spring Break and a Happy Easter!
